Prof. Zacharie Tsala Dimbuene holds a PhD in Demography from the Université de Montréal (Canada) and is currently a Professor of Demography at the Department of Population Sciences and Development, University of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. Deeply passionate about Africa, he is actively engaged in the scientific community of the Union for African Population Studies, particularly in training and mentoring Early Career Researchers (ECRs).
Prof. Tsala Dimbuene is committed to enhancing research output across Africa through collaboration with academic and research institutions throughout the continent. His research interests span advanced statistical methods, demographic theory and practice, maternal and child health, the nexus of Population, Environment, and Development (PED), as well as Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).
He is a member of several international professional bodies, including the Population Association of America, the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population, and the Association Internationale des Démographes de Langue Française. He also serves as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE and BMC Public Health, and as a reviewer for numerous journals such as AIDS & Behavior, Public Health Nutrition, World Development Review, and BMJ.
Over the past two decades, Prof. Tsala Dimbuene has developed strong negotiation skills, working effectively with stakeholders at both local and international levels.
