Prof. Joshua Amo-Adjei

Joshua holds a PhD in Population and Health and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Population & Health, as well as Vice Dean of the Office of International Relations at the University of Cape Coast until December 2025. Joshua is currently a Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist with the International Centre for Evaluation and Development, Kenya/Ghana. Joshua has extensive experience in public health, leading collaborative, multi-year, multi-country research projects and managing higher education partnerships. Joshua has supervised research capacity development at the undergraduate, graduate, PhD, and professional levels and is highly skilled at designing qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods studies.

Previously, Joshua was a postdoctoral researcher and associate research scientist at the African Population and Health Research Centre in Nairobi, Kenya (2016–2018). Joshua has served as a technical advisor to international organizations, including the UNDP-UNFPA-UNICEF-WHO-World Bank HRP Scientific and Technical Advisory Group, and the Technical Advisory Group of the Family Planning Impact Consortium under the Guttmacher Institute and AFIDEP.

Joshua has led research, monitoring, and evaluation activities funded by organizations such as UNDP Ghana, FHI360/USAID, WHO Geneva, UNFPA, UNICEF, University of Edinburgh, IFC Macro, Ipas Ghana, DKT International, PPAG/IPPF, and the Ghana Health Service. Joshua is proficient in NVivo and Stata for data management and analysis and regularly trains early-career researchers in these tools.
