Dr. Lupwana Jean Jacques Kandala is a Senior Lecturer and former Chair of the Higher Degree Committee in the School of Law at the University of Venda and a Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg, Faculty of Law, where he holds his Master’s and Doctorate degrees in International Law. He has served as an External Expert of the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child Working Group on Climate Change and Children’s Rights for three years and worked with many regional and local institutions, including the Pan African Parliament, SADC Lawyers ‘Association, Human Rights Institute of South Africa and Department of Women, Youth and people with Disability. His research focuses on international environmental law, the interaction between climate change and human rights, and international human rights.
